CHARCOAL CLAYPOT CHICKEN RICE!

Tucked inside a coffee shop beside a lane facing Maybank, Pudu Branch and opposite Restaurant Sek Yuen, you will be captivated by rows of piping hot claypots and charcoal stoves used to churn out traditional claypot chicken chicken rice.

Main ingredients : marinated chicken + gizzard, slices of lap cheong (chinese wax sausages), light + dark soya sauce, oyster sauce, garlic oil, sesame oil, chopped spring onions and steamed salted fish (RM2 per plate)

Since it was still early, our order was fast. When the cover lid was unveiled, we could instantly smell the aromatic and smoky flavor. We added a small plate of steamed salted fish and mixed it well and it do enhances the taste of the claypot chicken rice.

Unlike any other claypot chicken rice, over here you will find pieces of soft and tender gizzards are included in the cooking.

My friend love the crust and couldn't have enough of it.

After eating at this stall, my vote still goes to Heun Kee in Jalan Yew, Pudu.

  2. STP: If you are in KL, do try this staple in Heun Kee and its tasty pepper pork belly soup.
