Souplantation

Serving a good flow of various salads, soups, pastas, fruits and low in sugar dessert and drinks, Souplantation is a restaurant that are Vegan- or Vegetarian-friendly. No steak or roasted chicken is served.  This eat all you can buffet is price at USD8.79++ per pax. Add USD2.39 for drinks with refill.

This place is usually crowded during lunch and dinner. We were there early and managed to grab our sits. The crowd gets bigger when we just started eating.

Before entering the buffet counter, get a tray and plate(s).

Proceed to the salad counter and make your own colorful pasta and  greens. Adjourned to the cashier, pay your meal and drink. You will be given a big plastic mug for drink.
Next, quickly get a table and seat to put your food.
freshly bake muffins and chocolate cakes

My tray of food....Classical Minestrone soup (l), thick in consistency but tad tasteless and Irish Potatoes Leek (r), a soup which I won't want to give a second refill.

(l) Big Chunk Chicken Noodle..almost every tables had this. Basically, it's similar with the chicken soup here. (r) Claw Chowder is my top choice amongst all the soups I tasted.
Dyer Ice Cream(creamy and milky enough which made me go for  second refill) , Chocolate Brownie, Blueberry Muffin, Buttermilk Biscuit.

All of us was full to the brim by just eating all the above without even a piece of meat (except the chicken meat in the soup).

Souplantation offers special discount to the customers who join Club Veg. This is a good way to promote healthier eating habit amongst Americans rank with the highest obesity rate in the world.

SHABU-SHABU BUFFET STYLE

It was nice having lunch and catched up with Gill & Jason during my trip back to Penang last year. This friendly hubby & wife team strongly recommended Tsurukame located at 3rd Floor, Queesbay Mall, Penang. I do admit this restaurant served lots of high quality food which is value for money compared with my 'worst' dining experience in Rest Tao @ E-Gate, Penang.

We were spoilt with the variety selection of sushi, kim-chi, fried stuffs, salad, fruits, dessert and most importantly good soup to complement with quality ingredients for shabu-shabu .

I love the ambiance and restaurant setting where you can opt to sit and eat facing the mall or the sea.

We kicked start the afternoon by partaking on the buffet spread before satisfying our tummies with the DIY Japanese steam boat and two type of soups i.e plain and kiam chye (salted vegetables).

assorted sushi...fresh

different types of kim chi...tantalizing

fried stuff, fruits & salad counter

our fave was the hot & crispy fried chicken wing and fish

soup for the steam boat

condiments....chopped parsely, garlic and chili padi

plates of fresh ingredients on the conveyor belt

seats facing the mall

dessert ...ice cream
look at our table....so much food

happy tummies ....happy faces ((^_^))
