TOKYO TOKYO! in GREENBELT

During one of the night, we took a cab to GreenBelt shopping mall (quite similar to our Avenue K) in Makati Avenue. As we walk, we passed by this shop. Judging by its name,  I taught I could get a taste of Japanese food here and hence, we decided to give it  a try.

After perusing the menu, it was not exactly the type of food I was looking toward too. None the less,  I settled down  with few items.
 Prawn & Vegetable Tempura @ PHP125
The moment this set of bento was placed on my table, I knew I will not feel satisfied. And it's was true....after my first bite on the tempura....soggy batter, potatoes not cooked and prawn not fresh at all. The fried cabbage was not even fragrant and tasty! White rice was tad too dried....  phew!!!

Feeling really disappointed with our first order, we thought burger should taste better.

Shogun Burger @ PHP95
Look irresistible, rite...but wait till I try it!

Sandwiched between two pieces of bread are a slice of beef patty with black pepper sauce, a piece of cheese and a ring of fried onion. I admit the black pepper sauce complement well with the soft patty but it does not get along with the dried cheese and hard to chew onion ring.

After a discomforting meal, we walk around the mall before call it a night.

GETAWAY IN PHILIPPINES - DAY 1 (Jollibee)

After we checked into our hotel, we came out again hunting for early dinner

my immediate attention....Jollibee..
being told this is a famous fast food restaurant in Philippines

Set of Burger Steak with a glass of Revive @ PHP49++
add on Pocket Mango Pie @ PHP24++
Total = PHP73 including 12% VAT.
The beef patty was light yet succulent and moist. I walloped the whole piece of it leaving the white rice aside. As for the mango pie, it was soft and decently creamy fillled with chuncks of fresh mango.

1 piece of fried chicken drumstick @ PHP73++
not only skin crackling but the whole drumstick was yummy + fragrant. couldn't bother the side sauce which tasted too sweet for my liking

Since we were so awe and addicted with what we have eaten, we decided to try this burger @PHP64++

Sandwiched in between these two hash brown are a piece of beef patty and cheese. Usually I dislike potatoes but the hash brown was mushy and tasted good with the patty and melted cheese.

GETAWAY IN PHILIPPINES - DAY 1

BACK DATED POST

Was in Philippines during the Chinese New Year. It was a low key celebration in that country with little CNY decorations in the shopping malls /hotels except in the china town where there is a big bang of lion dance and fire crackers.

What amazed me most are the people there: friendly, courteous and helpful. On the street, inside taxi, restaurant or where ever you are, you'll be greeted with 'Ma'am or 'Sir'. If you  lost/seek for direction, just approach anyone of them and they'll immediately obliged/tell you.  I wasn't scared or feel like a total stranger at all. In fact, one of those day, I even  walked, shopped and dine alone till 8pm and safely returned to hotel. All in all, Philippines is a safe country to visit although I was told this country is full of mafia before my visit.

hot and humid weather at the airport!

got myself a cone of ice-cream to quench my thirsty throat...not bad

a pack of pork bacon crackers to fill up my tummy...not to my liking

instead of spending PHP19,800 for a taxi ride from the airport to the hotel, we paid PHP450 each for a bus to the Mega Mall. from there, we took a cab and were charged PHP250 to Berjaya Manila Hotel in Makati.
