FROM MY KITCHEN - MIXED HERBS RICE

I checked my fridge and found few spices/leaves nicely packed in a plastic bag and  2 pieces of frozen ikan selar kuning.  Since I am IN COOKING MODE, I decided to make nasi ulam (minus daun kadok/wild betel leaf & few other type of leaves).

Before cutting of fresh ingredients start, I washed a cup of basmati rice and let it cook in a rice cooker. When it is ready, scoop the rice in a plate/bowl and leave it to cool down for 20 mins.

cut and chopped finely....
daun kunyit/tumeric leaf, cucumber, bunga kantan/torch ginger, serai/lemon grass, fresh kunyit/tumeric and bawang merah/onion

"I super love Tumeric  cos' it has great health benefits such as preventing growth of tumor/anti cancer, fight inflammation, protect against chronic diseases like diabetes, is an antiseptic and anti oxidant which are use in beauty treatments."

Ok..back to cooking. Rub 2 teaspoon of soya sauce on the fish and fried it a medium heat oil for 6-10 mins. Set it aside.

Now, put all the cut ingredients into the cooked rice. Mix it well (optional:you can add in salt/pepper to taste). Serve it with the fried fish or salted egg.

Ready in 35 mins...yum yum!
