I LOVE HOKKIEN MEE

The name of this shop speaks for itself. Obviously, the main seller here is Hokkien Mee or stir fried black noodles. For those who dislike this staple, there other style of fried noodles, fried rice and side dishes available as well.

Sambal Belacan
..pungent & fragrant enough...

HOKKIEN MEE
Reasonably priced at RM7 per plate for 1 pax, this staple came with lots of fresh prawns and cut cabbages in a sea of dark soya sauce noodles. Both of us never like pork lard and this certainly suits our tastebud. Mix it with the sambal belacan for more ooomph!

Next, we had Cantonese Fried Kuew Teow/flat rice noodles with the same amount of ingredients. It always has been our (or rather mine) eating habit to add black vinegar into this plate of noodles to make the gravy more aromatic and tangy or similar to shark's fin soup.
Fried Chicken Wings
Perfectly fried to crisps yet still moist inside..finger licking!

Cold water melon juice and Herbal tea
This dinner was not in our plan but it was our sloopy sense of direction which took us here.

QQ SNOWMIX

After spending almost three hours of shopping spree inside a ladies’ boutique, we were poorer by RM600 but it was a well spent bargain on discounted branded clothes.

The weather was indeed hot and humid.  Thirsty and sweating as we were walking towards the car park , we wanted something icy and cool to sooth us down. As soon as we saw QQ Snowmix , we just went inside without a second thought.

At the counter, an orange colour signboard indicating ‘free 1 Taiwan Sweet Potato Stick for spending over RM10’ caught our eyes. We set for this deal together with dessert of two  different flavours…yam for me and soy bean for her!

Within 10 minutes, two huge bowls of colorful dessert and a plate of freshly fried potatoes stick arrived at our table.

small porcelain jug
..filled with sweet syrup..

Taro Ice + QQ Taro + Black Creamer (RM6.90 nett)
… I was awed away with the original taste of yam used in making the taro ice and cubes of taro made from flour + yam paste ...

Soya Ice + QQ Taro + Black Creamer (RM6.90 nett)
… my friend claims that this is the best soya ice she’d ever savoured.. incredibly authentic & with low sugar level! I do agree…

The hot fries was tad too sweet and hence we dipped with hot chilly sauce (upon request) and it turned out awesome… spicy enough  and blend well with our sweet icy desserts.

DIM SUM FOR DINNER

Many times, my hiking friends and I wanted to have Hong Kong dim sum brekkie in Restoran Jin Xuan in Puchong . But the long queue have deterred us evident of brisk business and delish food.

One fine evening and without any plan, we simply drove to Puchong and passed by this restaurant. It was a relief feeling to see no queue outside the restaurant.  Immediately, we parked our car and set our heart to the eatery.  This is my first time having dim sum for dinner.

Boiled Sea Coconut with American Ginseng & Red Dates
