LIGHT & EASY LUNCH @ JALAN PUDU

It was my friend suggestion to have light yet fulfilling lunch as the weather was terribly hot. As soon as we stepped into the shop located behind a church at Jalan Pudu, several signboard displaying the menu captured my attention. Ranging from various types of sweet soup, kuih and noodles at affordable cheap price tag .

I was salivating when looking and choosing the arrays of mouth watering kuih, I ended up ordering 3 types of kuih, 1 bowl of sweet soup and a bowl of curry noodles while my friend settled for a bowl of soup noodles.

Dry Curry Mee...gravy was thicked & spicy enough

Fish Balls Koay Teow Soup...bouncy and fresh fish balls

Glutinous Rice Balls with Black Sesame Fillings ....soup cooked using fresh ginger

Savoury cake

yam cake

pandan kuih talam.. soft and fragrant

I have forgotten the exact amount we paid but I guess it was about RM15 or less.

BROTHER JOHN KOPITIAM

Brother John Kopitiam is a new eatery located in Melaka Raya, Melaka. We were actually searching for Melaka Peranakan Nyonya food but ended up having our meal in this restaurant.

You can either opt to drink/dine inside the cozy restaurant or outside enjoying the cool breeze from nearby beach. Free Wifi is available too.

Our order was simple i.e. Spaghetti Chicken with Mushroom and Fish Fillet Mee Hoon.

SPAGHETTI CHICKEN WITH MUSHROOM (RM5.90++)
This may look simple but the taste was awesome.
The spaghetti was fried perfectly (not soggy but just right)
The thick gravy was tangy and flavorful cooked with minced chicken meat, slices of chicken sausages and button mushrooms in a combination of tomato+chili sauce. Grated parmesan cheese added ummph to this simple plate of noodles.

FISH FILLET MEE HOON (RM6.80++)
One look and you'll love it
Yes...we certainly enjoy this bowl of noodles packed with lots of fried fish fillet which was fresh and tasty. The soup is slightly sourish but tolerable evident by two pieces of dried tamarind and preserved salted vegetables found in the soup. This restaurant serves plain clear soup + fine mee hoon cooked in Nyonya style only.

There are wide selection of food in the menu and prices are affordable.
