We spotted Asian Flavours Cafe signboard during our 'cari makan' trip in Jalan Kuchai Lama known as food heaven. I remembered few bloggers came here for a review and give praises on the food.
The restaurant set up was simple yet modern and brigthen up by the orange colour chairs paired with cream colour tables.

Penang Assam Laksa (RM6.90)
Simply love the soup which was aromatic, full of fish flakes and topped with fresh mint leaves and other greens. With extra prawn paste and cut chilies padi, absolutely more ummph..
Penang Prawn Mee (RM7.90)
First sip on the soup, can't feel the presence of prawn but porky taste evident by pork lards. Although there were 2 prawns, 3 pieces of boiled pork ribs and a half boiled egg, slices of pork meat and 'kangkong', it fails to satisfy our tastebuds. We added more fried onions and chili paste but certainly can't agree this is PPM.
Penang Otak-Otak (RM5)
Chendol (RM3.50)
A small notice hung on the wall stated 'no artificial colouring used in making chendol but only juice extract from pandan leave' which we agreed. As we mixed this bowl of dessert fulled of shave ice and coconut milk, a spoonful of red beans + chendol was found at the bottom. Poured more black sugar but still unable to satiate our thirst for a nice bowl of Chendol.
The above lunch costs RM23.90 which is reasonable.
