LERK THAI!!!

Nowadays, before I decide to have meal in a restaurant, I'll make sure there is a  wi fi facility, so that I can  eat and check emails or chat online at the same time using my mobile phone.

Many times, I passed by Lerk Thai and was impressed with the nice set up and clean ambiance. But unfortunately I did not see any  patron dining there which definitely reflects either the food is no good or too expensive. But you'll never know, if you never try!

After browsing the colorful menu and being told all food are prepared by a Thai Chef, we settled for rice and few dishes and a dessert.

Tom Yam Seafood Clear Soup (RM10)
Pungent taste with strong aroma from cut lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves and lime juice
Filled with fresh prawns, slices of fish meat and squids ....satisfying
Fried Pandan Chicken (RM11)
No pandan fragrant even though chicken meat was moist and tender
Otak Otak (RM10)
Very disappointed....rubbery and tasteless
Red Ruby with Coconut Milk (RM7)
Coconut milk was too watery with eye appealing crunchy water chestnut ....too expensive

Overall, this is not a recommended place to enjoy authentic Thai food or rather 'taste Siamese food'.  We were there for three hours till almost dinner  but  all the table remain empty.

THE WINDMILL STATION

Before you read further, please note that this is not the The WindMill Restaurant with its chain of restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.

I am referring to The Windmill Station located outside the corner of Jaya Jusco Shopping Mall in Air Keroh Melaka.

The restaurant gives you a welcoming feeling in a clean and simple set up. What attracted us to have our lunch here was the set menu with a combination of western and local style without burning your pocket hole.

SET OF OYSTER MUSHROOM FRIED RICE SERVED WITH CHICKEN BITES + a bowl of vegetables soup+ salad + a glass of lime juice @ RM7.90 NETT The fried rice was full of 'wok hei' and irresistable with strips of abalone mushrooms, chunks of chicken meat, egg and mixed vegetables. Each pieces of fried chicken fillet was juicy and crispy. (oops...no picture of soup & drink was taken due to busy chatting)

SET OF OYSTER MUSHROOM FRIED RICE WITH CHICKEN CHOP + a bowl of Tom Yam + salad @ RM8.90 nett It looks oily, right? But who cares when this bowl of spicy soup tasted so aromatic yet appetizing filled with cuts of crab roe, fish balls, oyster mushroom and vegetables.

Same compliment for this plate of fried rice...full of 'wok hei'. The chicken chop itself is so juicy and tantalizing and tasted even better with the accompanied brown sauce which was quite diluted.

We were full to the brim after sharing this two set of meal and can't make way for dessert. Will come back and try their other specialities BUT in their new relocation at IXORA (Bukit Beruang) with more valuable promotions.
