This is my third time visiting Satay Station. A friend of mine (sharing almost same tastebuds) took for me dinner and since then, I've been addicted with the satay here. I used to eat Satay Kajang Haji Sahmuri but the quality has dropped eventhough the restaurant have wide selection of meat.
Satay Station is located at a main road of Kampung Pandan and run its business from a big wooden house. You have option to eat and enjoy your dinner in an open air, under a mini hut or inside the house in a traditional malay seating style (bersila).
For the three of us, we ordered 15 sticks of mixed chicken and beef satay (at 0.90 cents per stick) and a bowl of Mee Bonda/Rebus (RM6 per bowl). These are the only food available here.
Our satay came in an oblong bamboo tray layered with banana leaf and nasi impit + slices of cucumber + onions (RM1.50).
Each piece of meat was chunky in size, tender and aromatic which came from the heated charcoal use to cook the meat. Tucked in between two pieces of meat is a chicken/beef lard to keep the satay moist when cooked under the heat.
Satay is incomplete without peanut sauce. The hot and sweet sauce was thicked and full of crunched peanuts. It was irresistable that we ended up finishing our bowls of satay sauce .
Mee Bonda/Rebus came in a big serving of bowl with lots of cut beef meat, fried beancurd, 1 boiled egg and garnished with spring onions, green chilies, fried onions and a half lime. The gravy was flavoful and fragrant enough. We added lime juice for a bit of sour kick.
