“According to history, Heng Hong Tin Kee Restaurant started it’s business since 60s' in a small link shop-house by selling Hainanese Chicken Rice only. With support and high demand from customers, the owner expanded their menu by serving varieties of Hainanese dishes, especially Hainanese Mutton Herb Soup”.
It was after rain in one evening, we stumbled upon this coffee shop on our way to Jonkers Street night market. The old and classic setting with clean ambiance reminds me of my teen’s days having weekends breakfast with my family. Memories remains and can’t be erased. So cherish those sweet moments and let go the bad ones.

Still feeling full after a heavy dinner, we ordered just a bowl of the famous Hainanese Herb Mutton Soup enough for 2 pax. Inside this bowl, we found various types of chinese herbs used to churn out tasty and nutritious soup without any hint of msg, few chunks of tender lamb meat and loads of soft beancurd, black ear fungus and fried tau pok. Throw in the small serving of cut coriander leaves to enhance the flavour although no presence of ‘smelly mutton’ at all. Well executed but paying RM35 for only this dish came as a shock to us .
