"Agathians Shelter is an orphanage for boys that was initiated in 2003 by a team of young adults. It was set up to save a group of children from being turned out to the street and to provide a home for them. The children are from various backgrounds; some are orphaned, some only have a single parent who can't afford to feed them and others are either abandoned or neglected. It currently houses 30 children. Agathians Shelter is a Non Govermental Organisation (NGO) therefore, is very much dependent on public and corporate contributions. On 12 December 2009 at Eccucino, The Management and Staff of Prince Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur together with its Prince Residents' Ladies Club at the Prince's Serviced Apartments led by Mrs Pilar Palma-Pezar hosted a Christmas Brunch for the boys. This is an annual community project organized by the hotel to share the special festive moments with all the children and caretakers from Agathians Shelter Home as well as an opportunity for the children to visit the hotel.
A host of activities such as decorating gingerbread man, face painting and appearance of a Clown cheered up the boys.
The occasion was made more joyous when the Prince Residents' Ladies Club, led by Executive Chef DJ's wife prepared 'Shoe Boxes' X'mas gifts to each of the boy.
