A & W - FREE ROOT BEER

Each time after unsatisfactory lunch or dinner, I will hunt for something sweet/dessert to compensate back my 'makan mood' . I super love having A & W's ice cream and waffle since my teen years.

The other day, when I wanted to order a separate order of waffle & root beer which are slightly expensive, a male counter cashier was kind enough informed me about their current special promotion i.e. free root beer with any waffle, definitely a value for money deal.

 Waffle + 1 scoop of ice cream topped with strawberries sauce
 and free 1 glass of root beer

It looks good and delish, rite? Betcha, you gonna go for it very soon!
Well, let me share with you my discovery.
I find the waffle is crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. But the strawberries sauce is way to sweet for me. I should have tell the cashier to reduce the amount of sauce. Anyway, the vanilla flavour ice cream works well with the sauce and made a good combination with this butter waffle.

JALAN JALAN CARI MAKAN - 2ND STOP IN MELAKA

2ND STOP @ MELAKA -
MOM'S B'DAY DINNER

It was my plan to celebrate a low profile but yet sumptuous dinner with my mom in  Restaurant Pei Zing which is located in Melaka Raya. I had attended a relative  wedding lunch here  years back and found the food was good and affordable.

Starter... Mixed Combo Cold Dish
fried rolled fish paste, stir fried asparagus + sea asparagus+ green peas + carrot, steamed wanton and thai salad topped with salmon flakes
Shark's Fin Soup
flavorful + thick texture with handful of crab meat + shark's fin...add a dash of black vinegar to
give it more kick
Claypot Mixed Seafood
fresh and juicy scallops, mushrooms, crunchy fish maws + sea cucumber
Assam Pedas Ikan Merah
tender meat with perfect combination of  sweet + sour+ spicy gravy
Pork Knuckle
simply sensation....crispy texture with lots of collagen

Total bill came to RM173 only including three bowl of white rice and refillable hot tea.  We were extremely full and left no space for dessert.

But what is a birthday without a birthday cake? To complete this occasion, I bought a piece of ice cream cake from Baskin Robbin and shared among three of us.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU MOM!

Stay tuned...Seremban

BROTHER JOHN KOPITIAM

Brother John Kopitiam is a new eatery located in Melaka Raya, Melaka. We were actually searching for Melaka Peranakan Nyonya food but ended up having our meal in this restaurant.

You can either opt to drink/dine inside the cozy restaurant or outside enjoying the cool breeze from nearby beach. Free Wifi is available too.

Our order was simple i.e. Spaghetti Chicken with Mushroom and Fish Fillet Mee Hoon.

SPAGHETTI CHICKEN WITH MUSHROOM (RM5.90++)
This may look simple but the taste was awesome.
The spaghetti was fried perfectly (not soggy but just right)
The thick gravy was tangy and flavorful cooked with minced chicken meat, slices of chicken sausages and button mushrooms in a combination of tomato+chili sauce. Grated parmesan cheese added ummph to this simple plate of noodles.

FISH FILLET MEE HOON (RM6.80++)
One look and you'll love it
Yes...we certainly enjoy this bowl of noodles packed with lots of fried fish fillet which was fresh and tasty. The soup is slightly sourish but tolerable evident by two pieces of dried tamarind and preserved salted vegetables found in the soup. This restaurant serves plain clear soup + fine mee hoon cooked in Nyonya style only.

There are wide selection of food in the menu and prices are affordable.
