TANG SIFU

The other day I smsed a friend that I was in Tang Sifu. Instantly, a text came back which sound like this 'are you practicing kung fu there?" FAINT!  But I can't blame this friend of mine who only live to eat...most of the time tau pau food or having meals at nearby stalls.  After lunch with my family, I  mmsed  pictures of food we ate at the restaurant and my friend said 'next time sayla you having lunch there'. LOL.

We had several times paid visit to this restaurant but honestly I don't fancy the food here cos' after eating, you might need few glasses of water to get rid of the MSG contained in the herbal soup and dishes. But majority votes win i.e. 2 person against 1. I gave in as the outside weather was also scorching hot.

Upon setting our foot, few tables was already occupied, with some patrons enjoying the food and while some still waiting for their order. Both my sister and I picked our healthy selection from the self explanatory colorful menu.

Lo Han Gou with Longan & Honey Drink (RM5.90++)
quite diluted and tad too sweet. not my favourite drink

Snow Jelly With Gingko (RM8.90++)
So refreshing! Filled with lots of soft snow jelly and chewy gingko nuts boiled with rock sugar.

Brown Rice (RM2++)
firm and moist grains

Plain Mee Suah/Longevity Noodles (RM4++)
 long strand of noodles with slightly spongy texture

Poached Vegetable with Wolfberry (RM12.90++)
blanched spinach drowned in a pool of light soup and garnished with fried small anchovies
'we regret ordering this dish as it was just too plain and costly too'

Stewed Chicken With Rice Wine and Tianma (RM15.90++)
A waiter asked us how much rice wine to add into this dish and my sister greedily told him moderate.  For me, this was a wrong choice as the rice wine overpowered the entire dish resulted with bitter and sweet soup, an awful combination. I fished out pieces of cut ear fungus and mixed it with my mee suah. While my mom and sis almost cleaned the entire claypot.

Premium Mixed Seafood Hot Pot (RM29.90++)
I ordered this before during earlier visit. Tastewise and quantity still remain with slices of cut abalone, fish maw, scallops, 2 chicken drum stick, mushroom and shell clams gorgeously served in tasty soup.

Until now, I still have my own reservation when comes to herbal soup. HEALTHY + MSG FREE = fresh ingredients + herbs => HOME COOKed
