We stayed overnight in Hotel Green Park and saw this cute 'ikan patin' stand outside the hotel entrance upon checking out. This is the main reason why we came to this small town.. to try the speciality in....IKAN PATIN
A 5 minutes drive from the hotel, we reached Bukit Angin and greeted by stalls selling ikan patin + other seafood/dishes. Parking is easy and free. We were the only chinese amongst the malay crowd and opted Gerai Abang to have our lunch.
ikan patin gulai tempoyak, ikan patin assam pedas and other dishes |
giant size udang galah/lobster masak lemak @ RM40 each...
The concept here is pick/choose your own dishes and pay after your meal. So eat first and pay later!
Ikan Patin Assam Pedas @ RM10
fish meat was fresh and sweet. however the gravy tasted different from the usual assam pedas I had.... very mild..not spicy and sour enough
Ketam Bunga Masak Cili (RM12 for two)
This is better compared to ikan patin. Meaty and juicy in a sweet and spicy sauce
Kacang Botol Goreng Belacan (RM2) + Sotong Pedas (RM2)
both very equally good....spicy and crunchy
Ulam (RM2)
Together with two plates of white rice, we settled RM32 for a simple lunch.
GERAI ABANG (R & R Area)
NO.10 BUKIT ANGIN
TAMAN BUKIT ANGIN
