We were wondering what to eat for dinner while travelling along Jalan Ipoh and saw this shop selling Bak Kut Teh (BKT) located at 3rd Mile, facing HSCB bank. My friends wanted to try BKT which is situated next to Dynasty Hotel but I told them the quality has dropped with increased in price. Thus, they gave in to my idea to eat in the shop which I have earlier suggested to them.
For the four of us, we ordered a claypot BKT consists of spare ribs, pork stomach, 3 layer pork meat, a bowl of tofu pok, a bowl of yau char kuai and a plate of lettuce. We also had button mushroom and black mushroom added in the soup.
Service was prompt as we were the first customer having early dinner. The staff was quite fast when refilling the soup too.

Upon recommendation by the lady owner, we also opted for a bowl of pig tails and a portion of braised chicken leg. A pot of chinese hot tea to digest our system was in the menu too.

The soup was plain and light without any herbal flavour. All of us prefer our BKT infused with tong kwai and kei chee. However, the meat was well cooked which delight all of us.
Braised Pork Knuckle
It was a satisfying meal and the total bill came to RM15 per person which is reasonable.
pig tails (before cut)
after cut....i dislike it cos' there was too much layer of hard lard, chuncky bones and little meat
a plate of lettuce with fried onions and oyster sauce
braised chicken leg with dried red chillies - available on Sat & Sun only
no doubt, the chicken leg was not soft enough but the gravy was damn good...thick and aromatic
