RESTAURANT AMPANG YONG TAU FO

The other day, after our badminton session, we decided to have Yong Tau Fo since it was almost lunch and this restaurant is close by too.

orange juice, sugar cane juice & soya bean milk

mixtures of bouncy fish balls, stuffed fish paste in white soft taufu, red chilies, bitter gourd & ladies finger
all tasted good except those greens which was too soft.. either over cooked or not fresh

Fried Sway Kau and Foo Chok
both crispy and non oily on the outer  packed with minced chicken  meat (sway kau) & tasty fish paste (foo chok)

SOUP SWAY KAW
smooth yet silky wanton skin tucked with well marinated minced chicken

FRIED CHICKEN WINGS
over fried thus dried &  hard to chew
In total, we paid RM31.80 for our pork free lunch.

  3. Hi FoodnTravella, I guess I have been to this Ampang yong tau fu before you were born, wayyyyy back in the early '60s. We lived a few miles away and my friends and I on our motorcycles with our respective girlfriends would have lunch there fairly often.
As well one time a notorious gangster hideout. That village then was mostly wooden huts, very few brick houses.

As I have not been to this place, last was in early '80's, my time was a couple of large ramshackle huts with zinc roof. I guess today is a different story.
    Thanks for the memories.
    Have a nice day.
    Lee.
