What is a holiday without shopping and good food? For me, this two are utmost important for without one of this, I will feel incomplete and unsatisfied. Knowing that SM Mega Mall is one of the biggest shopping complex in Asia, I set my foot into this giant size mall on the second day. We hired a cab for PHP250 to reach our destination in Mandaluyong within 20 minutes. We were there from 1030am till 8pm but still unable to visit all the shops.
on the way to the mall
The mall is so huge, six storey with shop lots and SM Departmental Store on each floor. According to a local, SM stands for Shoe Mart and owned by a businessman from China.
I spotted this kiosk with a long queue.
Needless to say, I joined the queue and got myself a box of nachos with melted cheese
PHP60...tad to dried and plain for my taste buds
saw this little girl at the phone booth
caught by surprise....church inside a shopping mall
Pizza Hut kiosk....do you see this is any of our shopping mall here?
Cyber Zone/IT Floor.....it is so big
Art Gallery
Big, tidy and neat shoes store...from kids to adult (men + women).
All shoes are displayed on the rack according to various sizes.
yours truly with shopping bags
After walking for almost 4 hours, we felt hungry and had our tea break in Orchard Road Restaurant.
In conjunction with CNY, they had promotion of Tikoy + a glass of ice coffee/tea @ PHP99++. Tikoy is sweet rice cake eaten during the festive season which is similar to our kuih bakul. |
Each pieces of tikoy are deep with beaten egg and fried till slightly brown. I find it too sweet and soft. Still prefer our fried kuih bakul tucked with yam/taro. |
Bought these from Goldilocks Bakeshop which is a popular cakes & bakery shop in Philippines. |
Ensaymda-Hamonado = Cheese Pork Bun @ PHP49 sprinkled with great amount of grated cheese on the top and embedded with slices of ring pork ham inside the soft and moist dough |
Chicken Pie @ PHP35 creamy and tasty filling |
Brownies Classic Small @ PHP21 Thumbs up! its fudgy and not cakey at all with moderate amount of sugar |
