SUSHI ZANMAI IN LOW YAT PLAZA

Sushi Zanmai in Low Yat Plaza, Kuala Lumpur opened its door on 15 November 2009. In conjunction with opening of this new outlet, there was promotion of salmon sashimi for 5 pieces at RM8.80 only till 30 November 2009.

Being a Japanese food fanatic, my friend and I went there and we had a satisfying and appetizing meal. It certainly out beat Sushi King in terms of food quality and ambience.

ASIA SEA FOOD

After a late night concert in Kuala Lumpur, all of us felt very hungry and Mr ''Gao Ciak" ( clever to eat ) suggested to eat supper at a stall in Jalan Imbi. Within 10 minutes, we zoomed into a sedan and reached the destination with a parking space right opposite the hawker stall inside a food court.

Since it was already past midnight, there were not many customers except few drinkers chatting away. Within 30 minutes, our food arrived on the table.

The cook is a chinese local man and assisted by few female Indonesian helpers

while waiting for our food, 2 bottles of beer to 'quench' our thirst!!!

Fried Flat Noodles (Koay Teow) with Fresh Cockles
I still prefer cooked cockles in this flavorful noodles!

Steamed Clams with Shredded Ginger
I love the soup with generous amount of ginger and tasty clam flesh!

Black Pepper Crab
simply irresistable... my fave!!!

As usual Mr 'Gao Ciak' quietly settled the bill of less than RM90.

This is a new discovery for me ....supper at night in a hawker stall which I seldom do. Overall, it was an enjoying outing with nice company.

REVISIT - SEK YUEN RESTORAN

My first dining experience in this restaurant failed to tantalize my taste buds. Feeling unsatisfied and after reading other bloggers who blogged on the restaurant 'best seller' and also recommendation from Elyana (whose fave is the crispy roasted duck), we went there again for dinner. This time, Elyana invited Ben Fischer from Australia to join us . This young and friendly guy walloped almost all the crispy roasted duck and fried tilapia fish using his hands as though eating Kentucky Fried Chicken:-)

Total bill was RM82.50 only for 1 plate of seafood noodle, 3 dishes, 1 dessert, 1 bowl of rice & 1 teapot of chinese tea. It's worth the effort, money and time paid on this revisit.

Cantonese style -Fried Vermicelli and flat noodles with seafood (RM8)
yummy!!! fresh prawns and slices of fish meat in aromatic gravy

ROASTED DUCK (1/2 BIRD) - RM22
succulent!!! crispy skin and tender meat

STIR FRIED CHIVES WITH ROASTED PORK - RM15

FRIED TILAPIA FISH WITH SHREDDED GINGER IN SOYA SAUCE - RM20
thumbs up! the whole fish was fried to perfection..crispy on the out and juicy inside

CHINESE PANCAKE - RM8
just nice!!! fluffy skin tucked with 'not too sweet' lotus seed paste

BRAISED STUFF PIG TROTTER - RM20 & ABOVE (not in our menu)
This 'staple' was prepared for those who have booked one day in advance
the stuffing consists of mushroom, dried prawns, meat and etc

**You will notice that I usually do not publish photo of friends who travelled or dined with me because I prefer to keep it personal and most of them had asked me not to do so. Thus, I have to respect their privacy**

BETTY'S CORNER IN WISMA COSWAY, KL

Rain! Rain! Rain! This is the daily weather in Kuala Lumpur. When you are caught in this season, one tends to get hungry faster even before the clock ticks 12 noon. One of my superior was craving for hot and spicy food and wanted to buy us lunch in Betty's Corner which serves halal chinese and western food at affordable price . Who will say no when it comes to free food ...do you?

3 set of cutleries for us....

I opted for the combo meal which consists of Fish & Chips + Ice Lemon Juice+Brownies & Ice cream @ RM18.90

The dory fish meat was fresh in crispy batter

the brownies was not moist and the ice cream was just normal

Curry Mee with prawns, chicken meat and 'tau pok' only
..nothng beats the Penang Curry Mee with plenty of cockles and 'pig blood'

Mee Jawa with prawns, slices of fried beancurd and chicken meat...
the gravy was damned thicked as though eating curry mee in thicked coconut milk!

Bubur Cha-Cha consists of sweet potatoes, sago, sweet corn and yam
not too sweet but a bit diluted!

At the end of the meal, a Director from our sister company who were also having lunch there forked the bill for all of us. My superior felt extremely happy cos' she 'bought' us lunch without paying a single cent! Guess, it was her lucky day:-)
