SPECIAL BLOGGERS VIEWING PARTY OF CHEF DANIEL BOULUD - II

After waiting anxiously to attend the exclusive preview on Chef Daniel Boulud: 'One Night in Singapore’, the day finally arrived when I put my foot down at the entrance of NEO which was the official venue chosen for the event.

I reached NEO at about 5.45pm and was warmly greeted by Mdm Guldip Gill and her partner from Alice George Communication

After signing the guest arrival book, I was given a press kit which contained the programme for the nite, profile of AFC co-founder and press release on AFC.

There were many bloggers packing up the venue and buzy mingling with each other. As we were busy chatting, finger food and drink were served by the friendly waiter.

The night kicks off with a welcoming speech by Mr Hian Goh, Co Founder and Managing Director of AFC. This was followed by a 60 minutes exclusive video documentary on the Michelin-starred Chef who were on his first food & culinary adventure in South East Asia where he meets a variety of local talent and culinary traditions. HELPFUL MARMATTHIAS

In the past four months, I have been blogging about food, my cooking recipes, places I visit and other happenings which I see with my own eyes. Meeting up with other bloggers during food review was indeed an experience for me.

In this article, I would like to introduce Mar Matthias who had voluntarily and willingly rendered his assistance in so many ways.

Who is Mar Matthias? He is a very popular dropper in entrecard. When I first visited his http://matthiaschronicles.tanaya.net/, you'll notice this honourable man face and then the christian 'cross' which quickly draw my faith and hope in him. My instinct tells me that 'this man can help me' and it was true. When I first seek his help, I was skeptical to accept his advices but after several email exchanges, I finally put my confidence in taking his 'tips and tricks' to better my blog. We had in fact chat online and I learnt a lot from him.

Mar Matthias was born with Cerebral Palsy which has left him confined to a wheelchair for his entire life. But with strong determination, he keep his life moving despite obstacles he encountered daily. Check out his blog to know more about this wise and kind hearted man.

If you have blog or personal problem, do seek his help which will be treated with confidentiality. Feel free to consult him:-)

PORTUGESE SETTLEMENT

This pictures was taken few weeks ago on a 'very short' visit to Portugese Settlement in Ujong Pasir, Melaka. As you can see, the pretty girl in the pic is Suzana who hails from Barcelona, Spain. Being a Portugese Catholic, her visit to the settlement was to discover and learn more about the people and it's culture. She had been in Kuala Lumpur for one week business trip and had in fact purposely planned for this visit before flying off to Orlando on the same day via night flight.

Since both of us don't know much about Melaka (eventhough I'm a proud to say that I'm a Malaysian) and never been to Portugese Settlement, we took a taxi from Melaka Sentral which cost us RM25. It's quite expensive for a 10 minutes ride. While inside the taxi, the driver told us that tourist and local usually go there in the evening for its seafood and live band performance. OMG, we should come back in the evening! Due to Suzana tight schedule, we have to go ahead with our plan.

Upon arriving there, the weather was hot and sunny but it did not stop us from walking around and taking pictures of the settlement which was huge and clean. As we walked further inside, there was a big performing stage, cozy food court facing the sea, spacious car parks and few souvenir shop. Everything was rather quite but the people was friendly.

After 35 minutes tour, we were quite hungry and went around searching for food. Luckily, Restoran De Lisbon was opened for lunch. Upon recommendation, we ordered Baked Red Snapper, Stir Fried Spinach, Curry Chicken Kapitan and two fresh coconut. The food was okay only and total damaged was RM45. No photos was taken as we were busy attacking the food!

Eventhough this trip was 'too rush' but I truly enjoyed accompanying Suzana! Do come back to Malaysia and I'll guide you to The 'Pearl of The Orient' in Penang.

NEW NETWORKING CLUB - FINAL

Here's my review on a 8 course dinner in Restaurant Drunk Cat located in Kuchai Entrepreneurs' Park, Off Jalan Kuchai Lama, Kuala Lumpur. All the food served on that night were specially recommended by the restaurant owner who is a friend to Jack. I love all the food and thumbs up to the chef!

We were curious why this restaurant was given the name Drunk Cat. Is it because there are many cats in the restaurant? To unfold this unique name, we asked the female owner. According to her, when the restaurant started its business about 20 years ago, its master chef habitually drink bottle of beers while cooking in the kitchen and became drunk. And soon the drunken chef became the icon of their restaurant and that's where the restaurant name derived.

Alright, enough about the restaurant and let's show case about the food we indulged on that night.

Stir Fried Pig Intestines with Garlic in Oyster Sauce

Coconut Prawns Tom Yam

Braised Beancurd and Fried Fish Cake

Braised Mixed Brocollies with Pacific Clams

Honey Caramelized Chicken

Seafood and Fish Stomach Soup

Steamed Frog & Monkey Mushroom with Ginger Sauce

Kerabu Fish (2 styles)

Many thanks to Jack for inviting me and my blogger friends to this interesting event.

NEW NETWORKING CLUB - PART I

Recently, I was invited to do a review on a newly set up networking club in Kuala Lumpur. Being a new blogger, I felt terribly nervous. But this feeling diminished when I met up with the friendly owner, Jack Loh (man in red...pic above) who guided me to his shop office. I also invited fellow blogger like Sidney, Wilson and Racheal and Ah Bok to join me for this event.

The Diners Network.com core activities are:-
1. social & business networking circle
2. dining discount card & diners circle
3. talent/interest & hobbies circle
4. investors/partnership & biz funding circle
5. biz opportunity and online support forum
6. event management (strategic support group)
7. seminar & workshop
8. coaching and advisory programme
9. wellness programme & gifts

Currently, this club operates from a shop office in Kuchai Entrepreneurs' Park. I was impressed by the set up of the meeting room which are cosy and spacious. At one time, it can accommodate up to 30 people. Ideal for meeting, training and other networking activities.

On every alternate Saturday, the group gather for a sharing session in the club before proceed for a sumptuous dinner in a nearby restaurant. From time to time, the club also invite talents to share common hobbies with members such as performing chinese art calligraphy and etc.

For those who wish to know more about the club, you can send your inquiry to: partnersepm@gmail.com.

Before concluding this review , all of us were treated to a 8 course mouth watering dinner in a popular chinese restaurant. It was indeed a nice night with nice food and people.

Do stay tune on my next review on food......
